Effective date: August 24, 2026 · Applies to: Acuitely (“Acuitely,” “we,” “us”)
This policy explains what information Acuitely collects when a school, teacher, student, or parent uses the platform, how we use it, and the choices available. Acuitely is used primarily by schools, on behalf of their students — many of whom are minors — so this policy is written with that responsibility in mind.
Account information provided by the school or its users (name, role, email, class/grade assignment); learning and assessment activity (topics taught, responses to assessments, progress and gap data generated by using the platform); and standard technical information (device, browser, log data) needed to operate the service securely.
To operate the core product: generating assessments, computing understanding profiles, identifying learning gaps, and presenting the right view to teachers, admins, students, and parents. To maintain security, provide support, and improve the platform. We do not use student data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
Where Acuitely is used by a school, the school is the data controller and Acuitely acts as its service provider for that student data. We process student data only as instructed by the school and only to provide the service, and we aim to align our practices with regional education-data regulations such as FERPA and COPPA where applicable to a given school.
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the platform (such as hosting infrastructure), under agreements that limit their use of it, or where required by law.
We retain data for as long as a school's account is active, and for a limited period after termination — typically 90 days — to allow the school to export its data, after which it is deleted unless a longer period is required by law or agreed with the school.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is role-based and scoped by default — a teacher sees their classes, a parent sees their child, a school admin sees their school, and no more, unless explicitly granted.
Depending on your jurisdiction and role, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data — including rights available under frameworks such as GDPR or CCPA where they apply. School admins can make these requests directly; students and parents should generally start with their school, as the account holder.
Acuitely is provided to schools for use by students of all ages, under the school's authority and consent processes rather than direct-to-consumer signup. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children outside of a school relationship.
We'll update the effective date above when this policy changes, and notify school administrators of material changes.
